The Ministry of Health is organizing health consultations and providing support to people in Nghe An province affected by storms and floods.

On the morning of October 16th, at Anh Son Medical Center, the Ministry of Health, the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, in coordination with the Nghe An Department of Health and the Nghe An Provincial Young Doctors Association, organized a health consultation program and donated resources to people affected by typhoon No. 10 and typhoon No. 11.

Attending the program were Professor, Doctor Tran Van Thuan – Deputy Minister of Health, Chairman of the National Medical Council; representatives of leaders from departments and divisions of the Ministry of Health; and leaders of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association.

Representing Nghe An province were members of the Provincial Party Committee: Nguyen Thi Phuong Thuy – Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, Secretary of the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union; Le Thi Hoai Chung – Director of the Nghe An Department of Health; and Nguyen Huu Sang – Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Anh Son commune.

Also attending were Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hai, Specialist Level 2 – Director of Nghe An Lung Hospital, Chairman of the Young Doctors Association of Nghe An Province; representatives from the Anh Son Medical Center; businesses and organizations that partnered with and sponsored the program; and a large number of people from the former Anh Son district.

Speaking at the event, Professor, Doctor Tran Van Thuan – Deputy Minister of Health – extended his condolences and sympathy to the local Party committee, government, people, and medical staff affected by Typhoon No. 10. The Deputy Minister of Health expressed his pleasure at learning that the Anh Son Medical Center has made significant progress, particularly in research, innovation, application of advanced techniques, and the implementation of electronic medical records in recent years.

The Deputy Minister of Health stated: The program of health consultation and resource allocation for people affected by typhoons No. 10 and No. 11 is a series of activities with profound humanitarian significance; demonstrating the compassion of medical staff towards the people, as well as the determination of the medical sector to ensure that no one is left behind in healthcare.

The Deputy Minister of Health expressed his hope that Nghe An province and the Nghe An Department of Health would continue to promote efforts to mobilize resources and socialize resources to build infrastructure and equipment, and improve the quality of operations of health units. He urged health facilities and medical staff to strive to overcome difficulties and mitigate the damage caused by natural disasters, and to quickly restore stable and orderly health protection and care activities for the people.

Within the framework of the program, the Deputy Minister of Health, along with leaders of the Vietnam Young Doctors Association, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, the Nghe An Department of Health, the Nghe An Young Doctors Association, Anh Son commune, and participating businesses and organizations, visited and presented gifts to the Anh Son Medical Center and two commune health stations in the former Anh Son district; presented gifts to 50 medical staff whose property was damaged by storms and floods; and visited and presented gifts to patients receiving treatment at the Anh Son Medical Center and two disadvantaged families in Anh Son commune.

The program will take place on October 16th at Anh Son Medical Center. During the program, the organizers and medical staff will conduct health check-ups, provide health consultations, and give gifts to approximately 1,000 local residents.
