The Ministry of Health and the People's Committee of Nghe An province awarded Certificates of Commendation to one collective and eight individuals for their bravery in protecting patients in critical situations at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital.
On the morning of October 28th, at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, the Ministry of Health and the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a ceremony to present Certificates of Commendation from the Minister of Health and the Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province to collectives and individuals who had acted bravely to protect the safety of patients and their families during a critical situation that occurred at the hospital on October 23rd.

Attending the ceremony were: Tran Van Thuan - Deputy Minister of Health; Le Hong Vinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province; Dang Thanh Tung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chief of the Office of the Provincial People's Committee; Le Thi Hoai Chung - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Health of Nghe An province.

At the ceremony, Professor, Doctor Tran Van Thuan presented Certificates of Commendation from the Minister of Health to one collective and four individuals from Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital for their courageous actions and disregard for danger in protecting the lives and health of patients and their families. These individuals include: the Neonatal Department collective; nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang; nurse Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai; nurse Tran Thi Hong; and nurse Nguyen Thi Hong.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province, Le Hong Vinh, presented Certificates of Commendation to four individuals: Nurse Nguyen Thi Nhung; Nurse Phan Thi Oanh; Mr. Luu Xuan Dung; and Mr. Tran Kim Quyen.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan praised the courageous actions of individuals and groups at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital in facing danger, ensuring the absolute safety of pediatric patients and colleagues, and providing immediate on-site emergency care for the injured. These nurses served as a living shield between patients and danger; they are the guardians of society's faith in morality and justice.

The Deputy Minister of Health stated: "The commendations awarded today are a thank you from the health sector and also an affirmation that healthcare workers are not alone. Behind each healthcare worker is the health sector and society as a whole. And ahead, life is waiting for us; we must not delay a single second."

Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan expressed his hope that: After this incident, each hospital will learn a valuable lesson to strengthen its warning system, reinforce its security team, and develop procedures for handling and caring for staff psychologically after trauma. And more importantly, to build a humane, safe, and professional healthcare environment, worthy of the people's trust and commensurate with the task of caring for the people's health entrusted by the Party and the State.


Immediately after the ceremony at Nghe An Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan and Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh, along with leaders of the Department of Health, visited Nghe An Friendship General Hospital to directly visit, encourage, and present certificates of commendation to three nurses currently receiving treatment there: Nurse Nguyen Thuy Trang, Nurse Nguyen Thi Thu Hoai, and Nurse Nguyen Thi Nhung; and to visit and present gifts to two family members of injured patients, Ms. Ngo Thi Thu Thuy and Ms. Phan Thi Tu.
