To reassure buyers about the transaction, they arranged for someone posing as a delivery person to call and inform them that the vehicle was being transported, while simultaneously urging them to transfer money to complete the delivery process.

On April 21, the Criminal Police Department (PC45) of Hai Duong Provincial Police confirmed the arrest of three individuals for using Facebook to commit fraud and embezzle property.

Previously, through basic investigative work, the PC45 Department of the Hai Duong Provincial Police discovered a group of individuals engaging in fraudulent activities to misappropriate property.

From January 2018, they searched the internet, downloaded images of motorcycles, and advertised them for sale on fake Facebook accounts or online buying and selling groups at prices significantly lower than the actual market value of the vehicles.

Once the "victim" falls into the trap, they ask the person to transfer a deposit and a photo of their ID card or citizen identification card to process the paperwork. Then, they use editing software to create a fake vehicle registration and send it back to the buyer, simultaneously requesting the buyer to send the remaining amount as agreed to receive the vehicle.

To reassure buyers about the transaction, they arranged for someone posing as a delivery person to call and inform them that the vehicle was being transported, while simultaneously urging them to transfer money to complete the delivery procedures.

Using this tactic, the group defrauded more than 10 gullible people in Hai Duong and neighboring provinces.

Acting swiftly to expose and prosecute the suspects according to the law, the police force arrested: Nguyen Van Tuan (residing in Nam Phuoc town, Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam); Nguyen Van Thien (residing in Tam An town, Hiep Duc district, Quang Nam); and Nguyen Phuoc (residing in Hiep Hoa Bac, Lien Chieu district, Da Nang city).

At the investigative agency, the suspects confessed to their crimes. In Hai Duong province alone, they successfully defrauded four victims by selling their vehicles, stealing over 100 million VND.

The Hai Duong Provincial Police are continuing to investigate and expand the case, and will handle it according to the law.
