Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov has just provided important information about advances in the country's weapons technology, particularly the multi-purpose guided and glide module (UMPK) air-launched bomb. According to Manturov, the range of these weapons has been significantly upgraded compared to previous versions.

In an interview with the Rossiya-24 television channel, Denis Manturov confirmed that the range of the UMPK-equipped aerial bomb has now reached 300 km. This is the result of rapid improvements from conventional bombs to guided flight modules.

Mr. Manturov added that the product range under development is very diverse. The specific flight range of each weapon will depend on its weight, ranging from 90 km to nearly 300 km. The official emphasized that many military experts consider this to be one of the key weapons in current combat operations.

In addition to glide bomb technology, the Russian government is also focusing on boosting the production capacity of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as directed by the Ministry of Defense. Manturov noted that defense industry units are actively developing various types of UAVs to suit real-world battlefield needs.

Russia is currently pursuing a strategy of localizing the electronic and mechanical components for UAVs. This aims not only to increase production volume but also to give Russian manufacturers and developers greater flexibility in adapting technical specifications to military requirements.
