On August 1, 2017, the Ky Son District People's Court held a first-instance trial of the case against Tran Thi Thanh Thuy for the crime of "Kidnapping a child" as stipulated in Article 120 of the Penal Code.
According to the indictment of the Ky Son District People's Procuracy: at approximately 10:00 AM on January 6, 2017, Tran Thi Thanh Thuy (born in 1989), residing at 610/28 Tran Phu Street, Ward 5, Vung Tau City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, left Muong Xen Market in Block 3, Muong Xen Town, Ky Son District and went onto National Highway 7.
