In this match, Stoke City started better and twice took the lead in the first half thanks to goals from Choupo-Moting (28') and Kurt Zouma (45+1'). However, due to defensive weaknesses, Stoke City failed to protect their advantage against Brighton's strong comeback. The two players who scored to equalize for Brighton were Pascal Gross (44') and Jose Izquierdo (60').

With this draw, both teams remain in the same positions in the league table. Brighton are in 9th place with 16 points, while Stoke City are in 15th place with 13 points.

The president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), Carlo Tavecchio (74 years old), has announced his resignation after the Italian national team failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup.

Speaking to the media after a meeting in Rome on November 20, Tavecchio said: “I wasn’t the one who chose coach Ventura, but now I have to pay the price for his failure with the team. A lot of good things have been done over the last three years, but now a change is needed, and a new election will take place in the next 90 days.”
