Buick Zhijing SUV completes durability test.
The new Buick Zhijing SUV has completed its freezing durability test and is ready for launch with a modern design and Ultium 2.0 hybrid technology.
Buick has officially released the first images of the Zhijing SUV's winter testing, marking a crucial step before its market launch. During this test, the vehicle operated continuously in temperatures as low as -30 degrees Celsius in northern China to verify the durability of its mechanical systems and battery under extreme weather conditions.
Operational testing under freezing conditions.
Putting the Zhijing SUV to the test in harsh environments demonstrates Buick's commitment to reliability. The tests focused on cold start capability, battery charging efficiency, and drivetrain stability on slippery surfaces. According to the automaker, overcoming temperatures as low as -30°C ensures the vehicle can operate reliably in a variety of markets with different climates.

New design language and identity
Previously, on January 1st, Buick revealed the first details about this product line with the message of aiming for a "new level". A notable highlight of the exterior is the translucent LED taillight cluster, designed in the style of outstretched wings. This is a distinctive feature of the Zhijing series, creating a modern and luxurious visual effect when driving at night.
Expectations are high for inheriting technology from the Zhijing L7 sedan.
Although the detailed specifications of the SUV version have not been fully revealed, experts predict that the vehicle will inherit many technologies from the Zhijing L7 sedan in the same line. Specifically, the new SUV may be built on GM's "Xiaoyao" hyperconverged architecture and Ultium 2.0 platform.
The extended-range hybrid system (EREV), codenamed "True Dragon," is one of the key technical highlights. This powertrain allows the vehicle to flexibly combine the internal combustion engine and electric motor to optimize driving range and fuel efficiency. Below are the reference specifications from the already launched Zhijing model:
