Long An fans brought photos of defender Phuoc Tho to Tan An Stadium during the home match against Saigon FC in Round 7 of the V-League, which took place on the afternoon of April 24th.

The Long An players all wore black armbands to commemorate their fallen teammate. This week they took to the field without the young defender.

In the coaching cabin, the team reserved a place for Phuoc Tho with two portraits and his number 21 jersey.

The entire team observed a minute of silence in memory of Phuoc Tho before the match. The unfortunate defender passed away in a traffic accident on April 17th.

Within the team, Huynh Tan Tai and Nhat Tan were the closest to Phuoc Tho.

Tan Tai shared a room with Phuoc Tho on the team. He kissed his late friend's shirt before going into battle.

However, possibly due to mental instability, Tan Tai received a direct red card and was sent off in the 31st minute, leaving the team playing with ten men.

Long An struggled to defend, maintaining a 0-0 scoreline in the first half, but in the second half, they conceded three goals in quick succession.

In the end, the home team suffered a 1-3 defeat against V-League newcomer Saigon FC.

Long An has only 4 points after 7 matches and is currently second to last in the V-League standings.
