The suspect is Nguyen Thanh Trung (34 years old, residing in Son Tay commune, Huong Son district). Approximately two hours earlier, two other individuals from the same group as Trung were also arrested by the police, one of whom surrendered. The identities of these two individuals are still being investigated by the authorities.
“While Trung was holed up in the car, he threatened that there was a child inside. However, when Trung surrendered, the police searched the vehicle and found no child. Currently, the police are searching the two pickup trucks to see if there are any drugs,” Mr. Chuong said.
As reported, at around 3 PM today (February 15th), the Huong Son District Police discovered a group of men traveling in two white pickup trucks on National Highway 8C in the direction of Duc Tho District - Huong Son District (Ha Tinh Province) exhibiting suspicious behavior suggesting they were transporting drugs, so they signaled them to stop for inspection.
However, both pickup truck drivers disregarded the order and sped away. Upon reaching Hamlet 1, Son Giang Commune (Huong Son District), one vehicle veered off the road into a rice field; the other, driven by a suspect, entered the Son Giang inter-communal road and was subsequently apprehended by the police.
