From planting to harvesting, Solanum torvum takes 5-6 months, with harvesting twice a year for 5 years before the plant is dug up and replanted. The harvested product is the entire stem and roots of the Solanum torvum plant.

Mr. Dau Duc Truong, a farmer who grows Solanum torvum, said that his family cultivates 5 sao (approximately 0.5 hectares) of Solanum torvum, harvesting about 4 tons each year and earning nearly 200 million VND per year. Currently, his family is preparing the produce to sell to traders during the Tet holiday.

After harvesting, the Solanum torvum plant is cut into short sections 10-15 cm long, then dried in the sun until it turns yellow before being packaged.
