Both borrowers and lenders are victims?!
(Baonghean.vn) - Following the collapse of the illegal lending scheme, many residents of Tru Son commune (Do Luong district, Nghe An province) are confused and worried about whether they will be able to get back the money they have painstakingly saved throughout their lives.
Among those who filed complaints against Ms. Ha, Ms. Tran Thi Dieu from Hamlet 11, Tru Son Commune (Do Luong District) was the one who lent Ms. Ha the most money. Ms. Dieu said: "I lent Ms. Ha over 474 million VND. I thought she would repay it, but she never paid me back despite my repeated requests."
In her complaint to the authorities, Ms. Ha wrote: When asked to pay, she requested a postponement, saying she would wait until she sold her house and land to repay the debt. However, in reality, she has now transferred ownership of two plots of land and a house to her brother-in-law, Dao Tat Sy, and Nguyen Dinh Son. Meanwhile, Ms. Ha is continuing to build a solid house in Hamlet 10, Tru Son Commune.

Ms. Dieu also stated that the money she lent to Ms. Ha was savings she and her husband had accumulated to prepare for their child's overseas employment. "My husband had no idea; he thought I was giving the money to another man. Since hearing that Ms. Ha went bankrupt, I've lost 15 kilograms. I blame myself, and I feel sorry for my husband who worked so hard to earn that money. Now I want to die more than live…," Ms. Dieu sobbed.
With a thin frame and a haggard face from lack of sleep, Ms. Nguyen Thi Duong angrily said: “On January 1st, 2015 (lunar calendar), I lent Tran Thi Ha 50 million VND. Because Ha came and said she needed the money and would repay it by the 6th or 10th (lunar calendar), I lent it to her. When the repayment date arrived, I went to ask for it, but she still refused to pay. It happened many times after that. Ms. Ha even said that asking for a few tens of millions of VND was unbearable…”
Speaking to us, Ms. Tran Thi Ha stated that the accusations from residents that she borrowed money from them but has not repaid it are true. According to Ms. Ha, after borrowing money from residents, she continued to lend it to others. Ms. Ha recounted: "I borrowed from them and then lent it to people in Dai Son and Hien Son (Do Luong). I lent it at a higher interest rate to make a profit. But then they didn't pay me back, which is why things have come to this point."

| Ms. Tran Thi Ha claims that she lent over 3 billion VND to others but has not been able to get it back. |
According to Ms. Ha, she lent money to 14 people, including 11 in Dai Son commune and 2 in Hien Son commune. The total amount she lent was over 3 billion VND. She also borrowed from the bank to lend to these people, profiting from the interest rate difference.
Holding her young daughter in her arms, Tran Thi Ha showed us photocopies of the documents she had lent money to others and said sadly: "I've had a very hard time. I know that not repaying the people is my fault; the money they earned was their hard-earned money. Now I just hope that the authorities will investigate and clarify the matter soon so that I can get my money back and repay those I borrowed from."
