The whole of Russia admires the 90-year-old woman who traveled all over Vietnam.

Yelena Yerkhova is an elderly woman living in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, who began traveling at the age of 83. Since then, she has dedicated all her time and pension to exploring the world. The photo shows her at Domodedovo Airport in Moscow, Russia, according to Siberiantimes on October 26.

She recently completed a solo backpacking trip to Vietnam. At that time, she was 89 years old.

The only language she knows is Russian, but that hasn't stopped her from traveling. Yelena says she enjoys encountering new cultures and making friends. The photo above was taken during her recent visit to Vietnam.

In Vietnam, the elderly woman had many interesting experiences such as riding motorbike taxis, enjoying local cuisine, and swimming in the sea.

The photo shows two Russian tourists from Moscow. They recounted that while they were eating, they heard a Russian voice next to them.

One of the two tourists went to her table and translated her requests from Russian to English for the waiter.

Yekaterina Papina, a Russian tourist visiting Vietnam, said that the elderly woman was very brave and not afraid of the sea. She and a friend went swimming with her, with the aim of preventing Yelena from falling in due to the waves.

The story of an 89-year-old woman traveling the world was shared by Yekaterina Papina on her personal social media page and quickly garnered attention and admiration from people in Russia.

The elderly woman was interviewed by a local television channel. There, she said: "I've only just begun my life. I lost my parents when I was three, and when I was 14, World War II broke out. I got married, but my husband often beat me. I spent many years working and it seemed like I had nothing. When I traveled, the whole world opened up before me."

Her first trip abroad was to the Czech Republic. She liked it so much that she returned three more times. After that, her journey continued.Yelena expanded her reach to Germany, Türkiye, and Poland. The photo shows Yelena (center) with her newly made Russian friends during a visit to Vietnam.

Yelena said that she travels twice a year, and the money for this comes from her pension savings.

Yevgeny Yevtikhov, a tour manager for a travel company, said he had never met an elderly tourist as eager to explore new lands as she was.

Yelena will turn 90 in April 2017 and is currently preparing for her trip to Israel.
