The whole of Russia admires the 90-year-old woman who traveled all over Vietnam.

Yelena Yerkhova is a grandmother living in Krasnoyarsk, Siberia, and started traveling at the age of 83. Since then, she has spent all her time and pension exploring the world. In this photo, she was taking a photo at Domodevo Airport, Moscow, Russia, Siberiantimes reported on October 26.

She recently went on a solo backpacking trip to Vietnam. At this point, she was 89 years old.

The only language she speaks is Russian, but that doesn’t stop her from traveling. Yelena says she loves to meet new cultures and make friends. The photo above was taken during her recent visit to Vietnam.

In Vietnam, the old lady had many interesting experiences such as riding a motorbike taxi, enjoying local cuisine and swimming in the sea.

In the photo are two Russian tourists, from Moscow. They said that while they were eating, they heard a Russian accent next to them.

One of the two tourists came to her table and translated her orders from Russian to English with the waiter.

Yekaterina Papina, a Russian tourist who came to Vietnam to travel and met the old woman, said that she was very brave and not afraid of the sea. She and a friend went swimming with her, with the aim of helping Yelena not fall into the waves.

The story of an 89-year-old woman traveling the world was told by Yekaterina Papina on her personal social page and quickly received the attention and admiration of the people of the birch country.

The old woman was interviewed by a TV channel in her hometown. Here, she said: "I'm just starting my life. I lost my parents when I was three, and when I was 14, World War II broke out. I got married, but my husband often beat me. I spent many years working and it seemed like I had nothing. When I traveled, the whole world opened up before my eyes."

Her first trip abroad was to the Czech Republic. She liked it so much that she returned three more times. After that, her journeyYelena expanded to Germany, Türkiye, Poland. In the photo, Yelena (center) posed with new Russian friends during her visit to Vietnam.

Yelena said she travels twice a year, and the money comes from her pension savings.

Yevgeny Yevtikhov, a tour manager for a travel company, said he had never met an older tourist as eager to explore new lands as she was.

Yelena will turn 90 in April 2017 and is currently preparing for her trip to Israel.
