Singer Le Ngoc Thuy - passionate about folk music

- Singer Ngoc Thuy can share about her current life and work?

Currently, Thuy is mainly active in music in Ho Chi Minh City and is preparing to launch new projects. Thuy still performs for events every day, Thuy's life is currently focused on music only.

- As a folk singer and working in Ho Chi Minh City, was it difficult for you, because folk music is more suitable for the Central and Northern regions? How did you conquer the Southern audience?

The South has many developing music genres, especially commercial music, while folk music is very developed in the North. However, Thuy has many advantages when developing this music genre in the Southern market and in the near future Thuy is hoping to develop it strongly in the overseas market as well. Everywhere there are people who are far from home and there are also people who love folk music and sometimes in the South there are more.

There are very few singers singing folk music in the South, especially young singers like Ngoc Thuy, so that might be an advantage. Every time I record or release a product, Thuy puts all her emotions into the product, into the song because only when I put my emotions in the right mood will the song easily touch the listener's heart.

In the way she handles songs, Thuy handles songs that have been around for a long time in a more youthful and trendy way. Southern people are not easy-going, but as long as they touch the hearts of listeners, they will always enthusiastically support and accept them.

Every person is born with a mission and to know your mission requires a long enough time, but at present, Thuy thinks that her mission is to become a singer of folk music and promote that music to a new level. Thuy also hopes to release many products in the near future to develop not only in Vietnam but also in the overseas market.

- Ngoc Thuy, can you talk about the experiences you learned while pursuing folk music? Is your hometown Nghe An the source that inspired your love for folk music?

In each song, each lyric of folk music carries a deep meaning about love for the homeland, love for couples, family affection. Every time Thuy sings, the lyrics seem to teach Thuy to strive to become a more useful person. And when singing this music, Ngoc Thuy's breathing is also better, not breathing with the chest but breathing with the diaphragm. When following this music, friends and people who love folk music all have the same passion, the same interests, so Ngoc Thuy's relationships are also quite good.

Ngoc Thuy was born and raised in Huong Son district (Ha Tinh), a land of talented people, this place has nurtured Ngoc Thuy's soul so that every time she is happy or sad, she always returns to find a place to take refuge. Folk music has been nurtured by Ngoc Thuy since she was a child, every afternoon the radio broadcasts songs about her homeland and since then those songs have been in her blood without her knowing. Her hometown of Nghe An is the source of the love for folk music in Thuy's soul.

- Famous songs are performed very successfully by artists, it can be said that they are nailed in the hearts of the public. So when singing those songs again, how does Thuy renew them so that it is still Thuy and the listeners like it?

Songs that have been around for years, that people listen to over and over again and still love, must be very good, profound and have a humanistic value to last forever. Thuy must thank the artists who came before, the veteran brothers and sisters who have laid out a red carpet for Vietnamese folk music to be shaped. With Thuy's generation, it is necessary to promote, preserve and make those songs that have been around for years better and newer.

To do this, Thuy must use her own harmonies, arrangements and processing methods in the song to suit the trend. Many people commented that Thuy's voice is very different, very individual and has a part that cannot be confused with anyone else's. Thuy has shown a unique personality in music.

- Thuy, what advice do you have for young people who are passionate about learning vocal music and following the folk music stream?

Ngoc Thuy thinks that you must have passion, must have determination, then you will have the motivation to conquer the peak of your desire. Especially, you must have an environment. If you are passionate about learning vocal music, you should take the exam to an art school to be trained and have the right direction. To become a real singer is difficult, to become a true artist is even more difficult. Especially, female singers, if you have beauty and make the right choice, your future will be bright and you will shine more. On the contrary, if you make the wrong choice, it will become disadvantageous for yourself when pursuing your passion.

For Thuy, it's not just studying at school, not just singing at events, but anywhere there's an opportunity, Thuy is ready to show off her voice because, at some point, you'll know what to do for your passions and aspirations.

- Known as the million-view singer, can Thuy share this joy?

As an artist, everyone wants to become famous and successful. When I was named a million-view singer, I felt very happy and excited. Because I felt the support of everyone, who always loved my voice. That was also Thuy's way of proving that her efforts were well rewarded and she needed to preserve and promote it further.

Every time I go out, many audiences recognize me. Just one sentence: "Are you Ngoc Thuy? I always listen to your music", I feel very happy and joyful. Or if I happen to pass by a street where my singing voice resonates, I feel very lucky and happy. Although it is very small, that is the value that Ngoc Thuy wishes to contribute to art, to life.

- What are Thuy's plans for the end of this year and next year?

Ngoc Thuy's plan for this year and next year is to release many products. Currently, Thuy is preparing to release 55 new songs with the theme of love for the homeland, processed and arranged in Ngoc Thuy's style. Thuy hopes to continue to be welcomed by the audience and not disappoint everyone's expectations. Ngoc Thuy's products always ensure quality from image to sound and are released online globally. Thuy always tries to improve herself every day, carefully preparing each music product to serve the music-loving public.
