Singer Le Quyen: The title 'Queen of Classic Vietnamese Music' is too much to ask.

Although she is affectionately called the "Queen of Classic Music" or the "Queen of Tea Rooms" by her fans, Le Quyen believes that these titles are beyond her capabilities.

From the very beginning of her career in the early 2000s, Le Quyen took classic Vietnamese music seriously whenever she performed in tea rooms. Later, she focused on developing her career in contemporary music and also made a strong mark in this genre.

In 2010, she returned to her classic hits with the release of her album "Khúc Tình Xưa" (Old Love Songs). This album established Le Quyen's reputation, elevating her to one of Vietnam's leading singers. Le Quyen breathed life into these old songs, meticulously crafting each lyric and lingering note with heartfelt emotion. The album's unexpected success surprised even the Hanoi-based singer herself.

In every performance at her solo live shows, tea rooms, and classic music programs, Le Quyen is always requested by the audience to sing songs like "Tinh Lo" (Lost Love) and "Sau Le Bong" (Lonely Sorrow). It is from this that she has been bestowed the titles of "Queen of Tea Rooms" or "Queen of Classic Music" by the press and the audience.

However, the singer has repeatedly stated that she doesn't dare accept this title because she finds it too much to ask. During her "Duyen Phan" live show last October, the singer confessed: "For me, both bolero and pop music are equally valuable genres. I truly don't dare accept the title 'Queen of Classic Music' that audiences have been calling me lately."

Previously, Le Quyen also affirmed: "I only need the idea that 'Le Quyen's appeal is undeniable' to be enough. For me, that alone is worth a thousand times more than any other honor or title. My view is that if I sing, there must be listeners, regardless of the genre. I may be different from anyone else, my success may be different from anyone else's, but my audience is very diverse. And they are not superficial audiences, whether they listen to pop or old songs, but most of them have some kind of experience and depth."

Soon, Le Quyen will return to Hanoi to participate in the "Charming Vietnam 28" program with the theme of Spring. In the program, Le Quyen will perform her hit bolero songs such as "Duyen Phan" and "Doan Tuyet...". She shared: "I am happy to return to the capital to sing for my audience in a program like Charming Vietnam. This will be a memorable show to end 2016."

"Charming Vietnam 28," with the theme of Spring, will have two performances at 2 PM and 8 PM on December 11th at the National Convention Center in Hanoi.
