Singer Le Quyen: The title 'queen of old music' is too much
Although the audience lovingly calls her "queen of old music" or "queen of tea rooms", Le Quyen thinks this title is beyond her ability.
Since her debut in early 2000, Le Quyen has been serious about old music when singing in tea rooms. After that, she focused on developing in the youth music genre and also made a strong impression in this music genre.
In 2010, she returned to the songs that were once famous by releasing the album “Khuc tinh xua”. This album created a “brand” for Le Quyen, bringing her to the position of one of the leading singers in Vietnam. The old songs were breathed life into by Le Quyen in each verse, carefully crafted in each low note and released long, sentimental intervals. The unexpected success of the album surprised even the female singer from Ha Thanh.

In every performance night at private live shows, tea rooms, old music programs... Le Quyen is always requested by the audience to sing songs like "Love missed", "Sad lonely shadow"... From that time, the press and audience have dubbed her "queen of tea rooms" or "queen of old music".
However, the female singer has repeatedly said that she does not dare accept this title because she finds it too much. In the live show “Duyen phan” held last October, the female singer confided: “To me, bolero music or pop music are both precious genres. I really do not dare accept the title ‘queen of old music’ that the audience has called me recently.”
Previously, Le Quyen also affirmed: "I just need the idea of 'Le Quyen's undeniable appeal' to be enough. For me, that alone is worth a thousand times more than any other honor or title. My point of view is that if I sing, there must be someone listening to me, no matter what kind of music. I may not be like anyone else, and my type of success may not be like anyone else, but my audience is very diverse. And it is not a superficial audience, whether with young music or old music, but most of them have some kind of experience and depth."
In the near future, Le Quyen will return to Hanoi to participate in the program “Duyen Dang Viet Nam 28” with the theme of Spring. Participating in the program, Le Quyen will bring her bolero hits of the time such as “Duyen Phan”, “Doan Tuyet...”. She shared: “I am happy to return to the capital to sing for my audience in a program like Duyen Dang Viet Nam. This will be a memorable show to close out 2016”.
“Charming Vietnam 28” with the theme of Spring includes 2 performances at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on December 11 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi./.
