(Baonghean.vn) - While most teams have almost finalized their squads for the new 2020 season, Song Lam Nghe An team is still facing many obstacles, including the issue of sponsors.
The V.League 2020 national championship will kick off on February 22nd, and many teams are making strong preparations for the new season. A prime example is Thanh Hoa FC, which has brought in quality foreign players such as Hoang Vu Samson, Epassi Ewonde, and Moses Oloya.
Another neighboring team of Song Lam Nghe An, newly promoted Hong Linh Ha Tinh, also brought in two foreign players: Almeida Santos from Viettel FC and Bruno De Sousa. Previously, the Ha Tinh team had successfully recruited three domestic players: Le Manh Dung, Pham Hoang Lam, and Doan Anh Viet.

The V.League teams that spent the most heavily in the transfer window included Viettel FC and Ho Chi Minh City FC. The "successor to The Cong" team brought in two big signings: Nguyen Manh and Khac Ngoc from SLNA.
Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City FC, with many goals and ambitions for the 2020 season, also acquired quality new players such as the top scorer of the First Division, striker Nguyen Xuan Nam from Pho Hien, winger Vo Huy Toan, goalkeeper Bui Tien Dung, and striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.
The team based at Thong Nhat Stadium also brought in top-class foreign players such as Pape Diakite from Senegal, who was once included in the All-Star team of the USL Championship in the US. In addition, they also have Swedish national team striker Viktor Prodell and Chilean striker Matias Jadue.
Returning to SLNA, after the departure of several key players and the retirement of Van Binh, the Nghe An team is left with only veterans like Quang Tinh, Dinh Dong, and a group of players born in 1995 and 1996. Coach Ngo Quang Truong has also added 10 young players for the upcoming season, combined with the return of Vuong Quoc Trung and Binh Dinh Chau.

Regarding foreign players, SLNA has only tried out one Serbian center-back, recommended by former player Damir Memovic, but it didn't work out. The player left SLNA because he didn't meet the professional requirements.
Operating funds are also a major headache for the SLNA club leadership. To date, only Bac A Bank has committed to partnering with SLNA for the new season. The team has yet to announce a new co-sponsor due to some pending procedures.
Initially, SLNA was scheduled to participate in a friendly tournament organized by Viettel FC in Hanoi. However, at the last minute, the team was unable to participate due to various reasons.
Eight V.League teams are participating in this tournament: Hai Phong, Than Quang Ninh, Saigon, Hong Linh Ha Tinh, HAGL, Quang Nam, Nam Dinh, and host team Viettel.
