The Russian Ministry of Defense plans to discuss the security situation in Europe, specifically the issue of military aviation flights over the Baltic Sea, with foreign military experts.

To this end, a group of NATO military experts will be invited to Moscow in September, as announced by Russian Deputy Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov.

"NATO military experts were invited to Moscow in September for consultations on the political and military context in Europe. In this area, the priority task, according to the assessment of the Russian Ministry of Defense, is the level of readiness on a mutual basis to ensure the flights of military aircraft over the Baltic Sea with only their transponders switched on. To that end, experts from NATO and the Baltic states were invited to Moscow for consultations and to plan agreed measures to implement this initiative of Finnish President Sauli Niinistö," Deputy Minister Antonov stated.
