A new feature of the Fair is the creation of a showcase for Vietnamese tourism destinations to attract public attention.

After four days of vibrant activity, the Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2016, themed "Vietnam - A Paradise of Coastal and Island Tourism," concluded on the afternoon of April 17th. Notably, a new feature of the Fair was the promotion of Vietnam's tourism destinations: Northwest, Central Highlands, and South Central regions, which has initially attracted public attention.

The Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2016 attracted approximately 58,000 visitors who came to view and purchase tourism products.

With over 700 businesses from 25 countries and territories, the Vietnam International Tourism Fair 2016 attracted approximately 58,000 visitors who came to view and purchase tourism products. Travel companies generated revenue of 202 billion VND.

According to Ms. Dang Bich Tho, Deputy General Director of Hanoi Red Tour Joint Stock Company, the fair not only boosts tourism demand but also provides an opportunity for Vietnamese travel companies to learn about collaboration and tour organization from foreign companies and businesses.

“I’ve come to understand their trends, and through conversations, I’ve learned that travel companies in France are now shifting to different approaches. Previously, they organized tours and itineraries for tourists to various countries, but now they organize events, themed trips, and tourists plan their own tours and itineraries. Before, businesses had to develop 5-year or 10-year strategies, but now it’s only 2 or 3 years. We must constantly adapt and follow the trends of the times, not just our own way of thinking,” Ms. Tho stated.
