Local authorities distributed nearly 72.2 tons of rice for famine relief during Tet.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of January 31st, the districts of Quynh Luu and Tan Ky received and distributed nearly 44 tons of rice to alleviate hunger for the people during the Lunar New Year of Mau Tuat 2018.

* Lunar New Year of the Year of the Dog 2018,Quynh Luu districtThe province allocated 26,835 kg of rice to impoverished households in 33 communes and towns. The recipients were particularly disadvantaged poor households in the locality. In this distribution, Quynh Luu district had 608 households with a total of 1,789 people receiving rice; each person received 15 kg.
By early morning, all the rice had been received by Quynh Luu district and promptly distributed to the communes and towns. Afterwards, the communes and towns will proceed to distribute the rice to the people in the villages and hamlets.

The district will organize inspection and monitoring teams in several localities to ensure that rice is distributed according to regulations and to the correct recipients.

During this distribution, Dien Chau received over 28.2 tons of rice and distributed it to 1,883 people from 727 households, at a rate of 15kg per person. Those receiving the rice were mainly poor and food-deficient individuals, whose cases were identified and recommended by local authorities.
To ensure that the distribution of relief rice reaches the right recipients in a timely manner and leaves no one behind, the District People's Committee has directed local authorities to closely inspect and supervise the process, organizing the distribution of rice directly to each recipient at the commune People's Committee offices, ensuring sufficient quantity and adherence to the schedule. Accordingly, by February 1st, all 39 communes and towns in Dien Chau will have completed the distribution of relief rice for the people during the Tet holiday.

Tan Ky DistrictThe organization received and distributed 16,560 kg of rice to 471 households out of a total of 38,080 households, comprising 1,104 people in the area who were facing food shortages during the Lunar New Year of Mau Tuat 2018. Each person received 15 kg.

Immediately after the district received the rice, local authorities received it at the district level, and people came to receive it directly at the commune level. By this time, all the state-provided rice for the Lunar New Year (Year of the Dog) has been distributed to eligible recipients. In addition, the Tan Ky District People's Committee will provide transportation funding to the communes and establish inspection teams to oversee the rice distribution. The rice distribution and final accounting of recipient lists must be completed before February 5th.
