(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 30th, localities throughout the province organized rallies to respond to the "National Action Month for HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control" in 2015.

* In Con Cuong district, the rally was organized by the District People's Committee at Binh Chuan Secondary School..

Con Cuong district currently has 247 people infected with HIV, of which 211 have registered records. 146 cases have progressed to AIDS; and 141 deaths have been attributed to AIDS.

In Binh Chuan commune alone, there are approximately 127 drug addicts, the highest rate in the entire district. There are 13 registered HIV-infected individuals.

At the rally, the leaders of Con Cuong district launched a campaign to encourage people to participate in the fight against HIV/AIDS, considering it a battle for humanity and calling on all citizens to join hands to push back this dangerous pandemic.

* In Dien Chau district, the rally took place at Dien Chau Town Secondary School.

Currently, Dien Chau district has 620 drug addicts and 390 people infected with HIV/AIDS. Three HIV/AIDS prevention and control programs are being implemented in the district: the National Target Program, the World Health Organization (WHO) project, and the US-based Vietnam Association for HIV Prevention and Control (VAAC) project.

With the theme "Towards the 90-90-90 goal," meaning 90% of people infected with HIV know their status, 90% of people infected with HIV are diagnosed, and 90% of people infected with HIV receive antiretroviral treatment to control the disease, the People's Committee of Dien Chau district launched a campaign in communes and towns to strengthen communication and counseling activities to change behaviors for self-prevention of HIV infection and to enhance access to and provision of prevention, care, and treatment services for HIV/AIDS patients.
