On the morning of September 12th, reports from communes and villages affected by landslides in Ky Son, Tuong Duong, and Que Phong districts indicated that many roads had been reopened after efforts by officials, residents, and local forces to repair them. In some areas, forces even worked through the night to clear debris and reopen roads for residents.

In Ky Son district, heavy rains following Typhoon No. 3 have cut off many roads and caused numerous landslides. For example, in Huoi Tu commune, a landslide occurred in Huoi Kha and Trung Tam villages, disrupting traffic and temporarily cutting off access from Huoi Tu to Bac Ly, My Ly, and Muong Long. The commune has posted warning signs, rerouted traffic, and guided people through the affected areas.

Mr. Ha Ba Ly, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Huoi Tu commune, said that on the afternoon and night of September 11th, the commune mobilized forces to clear the large amount of soil and rocks that had slid onto the road to allow traffic to resume. Therefore, this morning, September 12th, motorbikes and cars can pass through normally, but caution is still needed to prevent slippery conditions and areas with a high risk of landslides.

Meanwhile, in My Ly commune, where numerous landslides occurred on roads leading to Cha Nga village, Xang Tren village, Yen Hoa village, and Xieng Tam village, by the morning of September 12th, the road surface had been cleared and the disruption to traffic had been resolved in some areas where roads were buried under earth and rocks.

According to the leaders of My Ly commune People's Committee, as of this morning, September 12th, thanks to the efforts of the armed forces and local people, the landslide areas have been basically cleared and repaired, allowing motorcycles to pass through; cars cannot yet pass due to rain and the inability to mobilize excavators for clearing.

In particular, dozens of landslides on the road from the center of My Ly commune to Cha Nga village have not yet been cleared because it was still raining on the morning of September 12th.

According to the leaders of Ky Son District People's Committee, the district has deployed machinery and local forces to address landslides on the road leading to Cha Nga village. Currently, although the road is cut off, the lives of over 90 households in the area are unaffected, and residents can maintain their food and living needs for an extended period.

As of the morning of September 12th, the Nậm Mộ River section passing through Cha Nga village, Mỹ Lý commune, was still flowing rapidly and rising, making boat travel on the river dangerous and prone to accidents. Authorities advised residents of Cha Nga to limit travel on the river and roads unless absolutely necessary to avoid landslides, boat capsizing, and potential harm to their health and lives.

In the communes of Muong Tip and Muong Ai, numerous landslides have also occurred. On the morning of September 12th, leaders of the Ky Son District Party Committee and People's Committee visited these two communes to directly survey and assess the situation of landslides, identify potential landslide risks, and direct remedial measures.

In Dooc May commune, local authorities reported that heavy rain continued this morning, September 12th, causing further landslides on the road from Huoi Vieng village to the center of Dooc May commune. The landslide, measuring 12 meters in length, was beyond the reach of machinery. Local authorities and officers and soldiers from the Keng Du Border Guard Post mobilized forces to clear the mud and debris, restoring traffic flow. By 10:00 AM on September 12th, traffic had been restored.

For example, in Luong Minh commune, on the afternoon of September 11th, local officials, along with residents, youth union members, military personnel, and police, cleared debris and unblocked traffic at Minh Tien village.

In Que Phong district, landslides in Nam Giai and Thong Thu communes have been repaired, and vehicles can now pass through, although the roads are still slippery.
