(Baonghean.vn) - On January 19th, various units and localities organized visits to encourage and present Tet gifts to poor households and families entitled to preferential policies in the province.

Nghe An Provincial Farmers' AssociationVisiting, encouraging, and extending New Year greetings to families receiving preferential treatment, those who have rendered meritorious service to the nation, and poor farming households in Yen Thang commune, Tuong Duong district. This is a difficult mountainous commune that the Provincial Farmers' Association is committed to assisting.

Here, the Provincial Farmers' Association presented 100 gift packages, each containing 30kg of rice, with a total value of 50 million VND, to poor households and visited and encouraged 10 families of policy beneficiaries and those who have contributed to the nation, with each gift package worth 500,000 VND.

Sharing with farmers and policy beneficiary households, Mr. Tran Van Huong - Standing Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial Farmers' Association - said: Responding to the call from the Provincial Party Secretary, the Provincial Farmers' Association has mobilized its staff to donate at least one gift each to the poor and to express gratitude to policy beneficiary families and those who have contributed to the nation; at the same time, it has called on businesses, organizations, and individuals to share and help poor farmer members celebrate Tet. To date, the Association has mobilized 21 tons of rice and cash with a total value of 350 million VND. From now until Tet, these gifts will be distributed to 700 poor farmer households throughout the province. Also on this occasion, the Association's delegation visited, encouraged, and extended Tet greetings to 100 poor farmer households in Lang Khe and Chau Khe communes of Con Cuong district.

Fatherland Front Committee of Quynh Doi Commune - Quynh Luu DistrictThe organization distributed 258 gift packages to beneficiaries including policy beneficiary families, poor households, near-poor households, orphaned children and people with disabilities, victims of Agent Orange, and families facing extreme difficulties. The total value of Tet gifts distributed during the Year of the Rooster exceeded 140 million VND.

Specifically, Venerable Quang Xuan from Dong Tuong Pagoda presented 21 gift packages to poor households, each worth 600,000 VND in cash and a gift worth 100,000 VND; and 45 policy beneficiaries, each receiving 300,000 VND in cash and a gift worth 100,000 VND.

Major General Ho Quang Tuan - Deputy Head of the General Department of Industry, Ministry of National Defense, presented 100 gift packages to near-poor households, poor households, and families entitled to preferential policies, each gift package worth 500,000 VND.

In Tho Hop commune, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Tung - Chairman of the District People's Committee - visited and presented gifts to the families of Mr. Nguyen Huu Duc, a war invalid (category 2/4) and victim of chemical poisoning in Lien Tan hamlet; and Mr. Truong Van Quyet, also a victim of chemical poisoning in Coc Mam hamlet.

In Tam Hop commune, the delegation presented gifts to four families of war invalids and those affected by chemical toxins.

In Minh Hop commune, the delegation visited and presented gifts to the families of Mr. Le Viet Dung and Mr. Nguyen Van Tam, both of whom were captured and imprisoned by the enemy and exposed to toxic chemicals, residing in Minh Kinh hamlet. They also visited and presented gifts to the family of Mrs. Truong Thi Man, who was exposed to chemical toxins in Minh Ho hamlet, and the family of Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, a disabled veteran (2/3) in Minh Thang hamlet. Each gift package included 400,000 VND in cash and goods worth 100,000 VND.
