Schools in Nghe An contribute nearly 2.6 billion VND to support flood victims

This is the heart of teachers and students in schools sent to people in flooded areas to share about the difficulties and losses caused by the consequences of storm No. 3.

In recent days, responding to the call of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province,Nghe An Province Department of Educationcalled on educational institutions, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the entire sector to promote the tradition of solidarity, mutual love, and mutual assistance to join hands in sharing and supporting the education sector in the northern provinces.

With the spirit of mutual love and volunteerism, teachers and students of the schools joined hands to donate and mobilize 2,548,398,563 to the education sector trade union.

Among these, there are many units with quite high support levels such as Huynh Thuc Khang High School with more than 264 million VND, Le Viet Thuat High School with more than 182 million VND, Nguyen Duy Trinh High School with more than 100 million VND, Ha Huy Tap High School with more than 97 million VND, Nguyen Xuan On High School with more than 71 million VND, and Que Phong High School with more than 51 million VND.

In addition, many non-public units, foreign language centers, and life skills education centers have also donated in response to the call.

Previously, at the appeal ceremony, the leaders of the Department of Education and Training said that the donation to support the flood victims is considered a political activity at the beginning of the school year for schools. Through that, the Department hopes that each worker will try to donate 1 day's salary to support and share the difficulties of the people and the education sector of the provinces affected by the storm. In addition, on this occasion, students at the schools also voluntarily donated to support the program launched by the schools.

Currently, of the donated amount, the Education Trade Union has transferred more than 2.1 billion VND to the units. Of which, 1 billion VND was transferred to the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province, and 300 million VND was transferred to the Ministry of Education and Training. In addition, through the education sector of Lao Cai, Cao Bang, Yen Bai, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Bac Giang, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang, and Bac Can provinces to support schools that suffered heavy damage due to floods. The lowest support level up to this point for each locality is 50 million VND and the highest is 250 million VND.
