Heavy rains caused by Typhoon No. 10 have caused significant damage in the communes of Muong Xen, Con Cuong, and Quy Hop in Nghe An province.

* In Muong Xen commune, according to initial statistics, 15 households were affected by landslides. Local authorities have urgently relocated the belongings of 69 households with 365 people to ensure the safety of lives and property. The affected households are mainly concentrated in the villages of Nhan Cu, Binh Son, Ban Canh, etc.

Heavy rains also caused serious landslides on Route 543D and Tay Son Road, with many sections severely damaged, causing traffic congestion and posing potential safety risks.

Local authorities and relevant agencies are currently mobilizing personnel and resources to carry out initial remedial work, evacuate residents from dangerous areas, and continue to assess the damage and implement timely support measures.

*In Con Cuong communeAs of 3 PM on September 29th, 28 out of 36 villages were flooded to a depth of 0.5m-1.5m, affecting approximately 1,650 households. This included 3 village cultural centers. Seven spillways were submerged, completely isolating 10 villages: Thanh Nam, Thanh Dao, Khe Ran, Tan Hoa, Lien Tra, Ban Pha, Trung Chinh, Trung Thanh, Lam Khe, and Bai Oi. 28 houses had their roofs blown off or collapsed, and 15 households in Vinh Hoan village were at risk of landslides.

Rising floodwaters have submerged several key sections of National Highway 7A, cutting off the flooded Vuc Bong Pass and Khe Dun Bridge by approximately 0.5-1 meter. Strong winds knocked down about 350 trees, causing traffic congestion in villages and hamlets, and damaging two cars. Currently, local "four on-the-spot" forces are mobilizing personnel to clear roads for safe travel and evacuate residents from deeply flooded areas to safety.

*In Quy Hop commune,As of 3 PM on September 29th, all bridges and culverts were submerged and impassable. Heavy rains caused flooding in over 180 houses, with nearly 100 houses submerged to depths of 2.5-3 meters; over 550 hectares of crops were submerged, and over 320 hectares of sugarcane were affected.

On September 29th, in the hamlets of Yen Luom, Khanh Quang, Son Tien, etc., police and military forces mobilized boats, vehicles, and personnel to successfully rescue 84 households with over 250 people trapped on their rooftops due to sudden rising floodwaters. Prior to this, the commune had mobilized more than 120 police and military officers and the commune's mobile platoon to relocate all 69 households in 5 hamlets at risk of flooding and landslides to safe areas.

Currently, Quy Hop commune continues to maintain a standby force, strengthen inspections, compile damage statistics, and coordinate with relevant agencies to promptly address the consequences and ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
