How the Vietnamese missile boats practice destroying targets.
Recently, the Molniya 1241.8 and Tarantul missile boats of the Vietnamese Navy conducted a joint exercise to destroy targets at sea.
According to publicly available information, although Tarantul's combat capabilities are not as good as Molniya 1241.8, its role remains very important when coordinating with Molniya in combat.
Reportedly, in the combat formation, the Molniya-class ships would be responsible for dangerous targets with good air defense systems, while the Tarantul would play a supporting role, finishing off the enemy with its P-15M missiles carrying very large warheads.
As the leading class of missile ships in the Vietnamese Navy, it's not surprising that Vietnam is building more of these ships, as our military shipbuilding industry has now mastered the Molnya-class shipbuilding technology and is planning to build even larger vessels.

In an interview with the Vietnam Navy newspaper at the end of 2016, Rear Admiral Hoang Hong Ha – Deputy Commander of the Vietnam People's Navy – stated that: Four ships (four Molniya missile boats) at the Ba Son shipyard had been handed over to the Navy, and after a period of use, they had proven effective. The two ships in this batch that were inspected both achieved good results.
Through this contract and technology transfer project, it can be affirmed that Ba Son Corporation has mastered the technology of building fast attack missile boats, and this is the foundation for Ba Son to continue building larger and more modern classes of combat ships, effectively fulfilling the task of protecting the sovereignty of the country's seas and islands in the current situation.
Ba Son has now assembled a skilled team for building modern warships. Accordingly, when preparing the Molniya-class shipbuilding project, Ba Son sent a delegation of officials and workers to the Russian Federation to study and acquire missile shipbuilding technology in 33 specialized fields.
After returning to Vietnam, this team organized new training and supplementary training for the factory's staff and workers. Thus, to date, the Ba Son shipyard has hundreds of skilled staff and workers capable of meeting the requirements for manufacturing modern military technology.

The ship is equipped with several modern radar systems such as the MR-352 Positiv-E search, detection and tracking radar (with a phased array antenna located on top of the mast), the Garpun-E anti-tank missile fire control radar, and the MR-123 Vympel artillery fire control radar.
The ship's main armament consists of 16 Kh-35 Uran-E missiles with a range of 135 km. The missile is notable for its compact size, resulting in a low radar cross-section, and its ability to fly at extremely low altitudes, making it very difficult to intercept.
