In episode 20 of the series "One Millimeter Away From You," the knot in the complicated relationship between Ngan and Vien is finally untied. After many years, Ngan directly explains why she didn't choose Vien despite their deep feelings for each other.
The real reason behind Ngan's choice
Growing up together, Ngan and Vien were considered by everyone to be a couple. However, after studying abroad and living in the city, Ngan chose to marry Nghiem, a man who later revealed himself to be lacking in both competence and morality.
Ngan's marriage broke down, and what hurt her most was that Vien, the man she had once rejected, remained by her side and had accurate insights into her husband. In an emotional conversation, Ngan admitted that the reason she chose Nghiem was because he made her feel like she was the only one.
"But he holds me dear. I'm his only one," Ngan said, her voice choked with emotion. She explained that with Vien, she always felt exhausted having to compete for his place among the other women surrounding him. "If I'm not here, he still has My, Thanh, Tra, and so many others. I'm so tired," Ngan shouted.
Nghiêm faces the risk of being exposed.
In another development, Nghiêm is trying to manipulate Nga, Đức's girlfriend, to obtain testimony that will benefit him. He is confident that there is no evidence to support his plans.
However, Nghiêm was unaware that crucial evidence of his actions had fallen into the hands of Viễn, whom he had always considered his rival.
