Ironically, Ngân accidentally overhears the entire plan.
Facing the risk of his career being ruined after the Director of the Research Institute got his hands on an incriminating video clip, Nghiem found himself in a desperate situation. His biggest worry now was the marriage contract he had signed with Ngan, which included a clause stating that the betrayer would leave empty-handed.
Fearing losing everything, Nghiem secretly returned home to take a picture of the contract and send it to Trung for review, hoping to find loopholes. At that moment, Ngan returned to retrieve her forgotten phone and accidentally overheard the entire conversation between Nghiem and Trung.
Over the phone, Nghiem instructed Trung to hire private investigators to closely monitor both Ngan and Vien. The climax of their calculated plan was when Nghiem asked Trung about how to fabricate evidence in the worst-case scenario.
