How to check if your smartphone supports 4G or not
Vietnamese network operators are racing to provide 4G mobile data services. Although most of us are using smartphones nowadays, unfortunately many users do not know whether their devices support 4G or not?
In fact, 4G connection receiver chips are quite cheap, so manufacturers have long supported this connection on many smartphone models from mid-range to higher, some low-cost phones also support it. However, not all phone models support it. Therefore, to know exactly whether your phone can use 4G network, please try some of the following ways:
Method 1:
On your phone > open the phone dialer >press *#06#> the device will display the IMEI number > enter this IMEI number on imei.info > information about the device will appear so users can see if the device supports 4G.

Enter your phone's IMEI in the red box to check information. |

If the device supports 4G, there will be similar information in the red frame. |
Method 2:
Check the product specifications from the manufacturer or authorized distributor websites. These sites will usually have complete information about the machine model and the network specifications that the machine supports.

These are the specifications of a 4G-enabled device found on gsmarena. |
Method 3:
It can be checked directly on the mobile device, however note that some phones, although supporting 4G, do not show this information when checking directly in the device software (for example, the international version of LG G3).
You can try by operating depending on each phone line, if you see the word 4G or LTE in it, it means the product supports 4G network. For example:
+ Samsung (S6 Edge): Settings > Mobile networks > Network mode > LTE/WCD-MA/GSM.
+ iPhone (6/6 Plus): Settings > Cellular > Voice & Data > LTE
+ Nokia Lumia 930: Settings > mobile network + sim > Highest connection speed > 4G
+ Blackberry (Passport): Settings > Network and connections > Network mode > 4G&3G or 4G&3G&2G.
Note
- To use 4G, users, in addition to having a 4G-enabled device, must register and activate 4G mode on the device to be able to use it.
- Actual network speed depends on many conditions such as location of use, network provider, service package and importantly the responsiveness of the device (smartphone, tablet...).
- To ensure good usability, users should choose genuine devices distributed in Vietnam instead of hand-carried products because the product may be designed specifically for foreign carriers and may not be compatible when used in Vietnam.
