Muỗi Aedes aegypti là vật trung gian làm lây truyền bệnh sốt xuất huyết.
The Aedes aegypti mosquito is the vector that transmits dengue fever.

Before spraying

- Research and identify the spraying area.

- Clean up and cover food, provisions, fish tanks, and pets. Arrange for someone to stay home and open doors during the chemical spraying. Pay attention to areas where silkworms and bees are raised for honey production; ensure that chemicals do not drift into these areas during spraying.

- Households should open all doors, including windows.

- People should stay away from windows and doors or temporarily leave their homes and the spraying area until the spraying is complete.

- When spraying chemicals, the optimal outdoor air temperature is between 18 and 25 degrees Celsius. Avoid spraying when the outdoor temperature is high, between 27 and 30 degrees Celsius. The best times to spray chemicals are in the morning from 6 to 9 a.m., and in the afternoon and evening from 5 p.m. Spray only when the wind is light (wind speed from 3-13 km/h). Do not spray chemicals when it is raining or when the wind speed exceeds 15 km/h.

- Do not spray chemicals directly onto people or animals.

- In areas where dengue fever is present, spray at least the entire area within a 300-meter radius around the patient's home.

- Although it is claimed to be non-toxic, you should still take precautions by leaving the house for at least 30 minutes after spraying to avoid inhaling the fumes.

- It is safest to resume normal activities after 60-90 minutes.

- Each designated chemical spraying location must be sprayed twice, with an interval of 7-10 days.

- Continue spraying for the third time when monitoring shows:

+ Areas that have been sprayed with insecticide have seen new dengue fever cases within 14 days of the first spraying.

+ Mosquito density index ≥ 0.2/house.

+ Larva index ≥ 20.

After spraying

- The person directly spraying chemicals must rinse the chemical containers and clean the machine with clean water; they must not pour the machine cleaning water into water sources (ponds, lakes, rivers, canals).

- After spraying, people must clean themselves and shower with soap to remove any chemicals clinging to their clothes and bodies.

- Weekly measures to eliminate mosquito larvae/pupae include: washing and cleaning water containers, turning over empty containers, changing the water in flower vases, adding salt or oil to water bowls placed under cupboard legs, etc.

- You should use mosquito nets when sleeping and wear long clothing to protect yourself from mosquito bites, even during the day.

Things to note when spraying chemicals to kill mosquitoes.

All insecticides have a certain level of toxicity, so it is necessary to follow the instructions of health professionals when spraying in the community.

When mixing chemicals for spraying, absolutely do not allow people to use them for personal purposes. Avoid accidental ingestion to prevent poisoning.

Wear a mask and gloves when handling chemicals.

Avoid contact of chemicals with skin and eyes.

Do not eat, drink, or smoke while spraying chemicals.

Do not dump excess chemicals into water sources, ponds, or lakes, as this will cause pollution.

When people experience itching or burning sensations on their face or exposed skin, they should wash with soap.

If food items are not properly covered during the spraying process and chemicals are released into them, and you experience symptoms such as headache, fatigue, or stomach pain after eating them, you should seek immediate medical attention.

When experiencing fever and symptoms of dengue fever, people should go to a medical facility for examination and treatment advice, and should not self-treat at home.
