Experts reveal that the quickest way to increase battery life on Android phones and other mobile devices by more than 20% is to immediately uninstall the Facebook app.

Nearly three and a half years ago, Phonearena published an article claiming that the Facebook app was one of the culprits behind extremely rapid battery drain on iOS devices. Last year, Facebook acknowledged this and stated that the latest app update would fix the problem.

However, currently, Android users seem to be facing the most significant problem with battery drain, and the culprit, of course, is the Facebook app installed on their devices.

Tech World Zone recently conducted a test using Facebook on a Nexus 6P via the Metal app. Metal is a web wrapper for Facebook. The test results showed that, after a week, removing the Facebook app increased the battery life of the Android phone by 20% per day. Besides addressing battery drain issues, removing the Facebook app can also improve the performance of Android devices.

Although the Android battery statistics don't show any negative energy consumption for running the Facebook app, the social media app continues to run in the background even when the phone is disconnected from the internet. This feature appears to be designed to allow Facebook to launch quickly on demand and provide instant notifications and messages.

Although Facebook has previously addressed issues related to installing its app, the company seems to have only referred to performance issues on Android phones and tablets when installing the app. "We've heard reports from a few people experiencing slow speeds with the Facebook app for Android. We're investigating and will keep you informed as soon as possible. We're focused on resolving and fixing these issues," a Facebook spokesperson said.

While Facebook has yet to offer an official solution, experts suggest that if you still want to access Facebook and enjoy longer battery life, you can always uninstall the social media app and access it through a web browser on your Android device.
