Whenever people inside and outside the village have important events such as funerals, weddings, house building, groundbreaking, opening, traveling... they often come to Mr. Kha Van Tien, residing in Can village, Tam Thai commune (Tuong Duong) to see the good and bad hours so that the work can go smoothly. People who know how to draw and see the time in the village are usually shamans or sorcerers. Photo: Dinh Tuan |

The Thai people call this board Ta Nham Ha (meaning 5 days, 5 hours). The five daily boxes will correspond to the five days from the 1st to the 5th, then on the 6th, they will return to box number 1 and so on. The five vertical boxes are divided into 5 time frames. The first frame from the bottom up is Xi Xum (time frame from 5-6 o'clock); The second frame is Lem Vac (time frame from 7-9 o'clock); The third frame is Na Dam (time frame from 10-12 o'clock); The fourth frame is Xong Hoa Ma (time frame from 1-4 o'clock) and the last frame is Ta Tooc (time frame from 5-7 o'clock). According to Mr. Tien, according to the Thai people's concept, Lem Vac and Na Dam are 2 bad and very bad time frames. If it is a wedding, house building, groundbreaking, opening ceremony... then the time for gathering and offering incense will be chosen, two good times. For funerals, the time for offering incense will be chosen. Photo: Dinh Tuan |

People hang the good and bad time tables in easy-to-see and easy-to-remember places, such as painting them on the walls, sticking them on the ground floor, or making them into key chains. In the photo, people hang the time tables on the rafters. Photo: Dinh Tuan |

Make a key chain so that you can see it anytime, anywhere. Nowadays, many superstitious customs have been eliminated from the lives of the Thai community. Watching time according to the Ta Nham Ha table is considered a cultural feature, a type of calendar unique to the Thai people that many researchers are interested in. Photo: Dinh Tuan |
