Many roads closed due to floods
(Baonghean.vn) - Heavy rain has caused a number of roads and bridges in Nghia Dan district to be deeply submerged in water; the district has directed localities to mobilize local forces to overcome the consequences.

With 103mm of rain, accompanied by winds of level 6 and 7, most of the reservoirs in the communes of Nghia Lien, Nghia Phu, Nghia Hung, Nghia Yen... overflowed the dam. Nearly 100 households had to be evacuated; about 20 hectares of unharvested rice were flooded and silted up; more than 600 chickens were swept away, 800 meters of fence collapsed, 3 hectares of fruit trees were broken; many fish ponds were severely damaged.
Mr. Tran Van Long - Vice Chairman of Nghia Hung Commune People's Committee said: In Nghia Hung Commune, the roads of 11 hamlets with over 1,200 households were cut off and isolated; water flooded into houses, gardens, some places were flooded more than 1 meter. The commune continuously notified people not to go through the spillways; assigned officers to guard at the important spillways.

At Hieu spillway bridge, Nghia Thinh commune, section KM92+B50, National Highway 48E connecting Nghia Thinh and Nghia Hung, the water level is nearly 1 meter deep, posing a danger to people and vehicles passing by. In response to the above situation, Nghia Thinh commune has set up fences and signs prohibiting people from crossing the flooded spillway.

The district's Flood and Storm Prevention and Search and Rescue Committee has coordinated with localities to mobilize human resources and means to conduct inspections, estimate the extent of damage, and direct forces to focus on overcoming the consequences caused by floods.
