Taking advantage of the moment when the grocery store owner was busy getting items for customers, Nam sneaked to the cash register, reached into the drawer, took nearly 20 million dong, and quickly left.

On the afternoon of January 24th, the Police of Ward 10, Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City, announced that they are temporarily detaining Dang Huu Nam (born in 1955, residing at house number 402/13A Le Van Sy Street, Ward 14, District 3) for investigation into the crime of "theft of property".

Earlier on January 22nd, the owner of a grocery store located next to Tran Huu Trang Market (Ward 10, Phu Nhuan District) reported to the police that thieves had taken advantage of a lapse in security and stolen nearly 20 million VND.

According to the victim's report, at approximately 11:20 AM on January 22nd, an elderly man riding a motorbike with license plate 59F1-02340 approached and inquired about purchasing a box of instant noodles and two toothbrushes. After selling the items and calculating the payment for the man, the shop owner turned to serve other customers who had just arrived at the shop.

A short while later, seeing the man leave in a hurry, the woman became suspicious and went to check, only to discover that a wad of nearly 20 million dong that she had left in the desk drawer had disappeared.

After reviewing the security camera footage, the shop owner realized that the elderly man driving the motorbike with license plate 59F1-02340 was the one who stole the money, so he reported it to the police.

Through investigation, by noon on January 24th, the police of Ward 10, Phu Nhuan District, tracked down the perpetrator of the theft, Dang Huu Nam, and arrested him. At the police station, the suspect confessed to his crime and stated that he stole the money because he saw the shop owner leaving it unattended.

Through the Ho Chi Minh City Police newspaper, the Phu Nhuan District Police Department is urging citizens to be vigilant against thieves during the Tet holiday and asking anyone who has been a victim of Nam to provide information so that legal action can be taken.
