Provincial Party Committee Organization Department official beats drinking buddy, requires 9 stitches.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Internal Political Security Department of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, smashed a beer glass on his drinking buddy's head, causing the latter to be hospitalized and require 9 stitches.

On September 12th, Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Secretary of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, requested the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department to clarify the incident in which Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Internal Political Security Department ( thuộc the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department), injured Mr. Huynh Nhat Khanh while the two were drinking together with several other officials of Binh Thuan province.

According to initial information from the authorities of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, a wedding took place in Phan Thiet City on the afternoon of September 4th, and many officials of the Provincial Party Committee were invited to attend.

After the wedding reception, Mr. Nguyen Thu Son - Secretary of the Phan Thiet City Party Committee (formerly Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department) - invited several officials from the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee and the Phan Thiet City Party Committee to continue drinking at the Song Bien restaurant.

The incident occurred at the Song Bien restaurant.

According to witnesses, at the drinking table, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung and Mr. Huynh Nhat Khanh had an argument. Mr. Dung then grabbed a beer glass and hit Mr. Khanh on the head, causing Mr. Khanh to bleed from the head right there at the table.

Mr. Khanh was then taken to An Phuoc General Hospital, where doctors stitched him up with 9 stitches.

It is known that Mr. Huynh Nhat Khanh previously worked at the Organization Department of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee, and has now transferred to work at a bank in Phan Thiet City.

Following the incident, Mr. Nguyen Van Dung reported it to the head of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department and was asked to write a self-criticism report. Mr. Dung also apologized to Mr. Khanh.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Nghia, head of the Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee's Organization Department, said that a party branch meeting at the end of September will review the case of Mr. Nguyen Van Dung.
