With pride and a great sense of responsibility as sons and daughters of President Ho Chi Minh's homeland, the cadres and Party members here always remember his teachings to promote their pioneering and exemplary role in all activities, making Nam Dan district a shining example for the entire province.

Pioneering in Party building and the political system.

"Serving the Party and the people perfectly" - that's what the people of Xuan Hoa hamlet, Nam Cat commune, often say about Nguyen Van Than, born in 1958. To date, he has dedicated nearly 30 years to village affairs, holding various positions such as Party Branch Secretary, Hamlet Head, and Head of the Hamlet's Front Committee.

With his enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, he was a key factor, working alongside the local community to create consensus among the people, transforming Xuan Hoa from a struggling hamlet into a shining example in the commune's new rural development movement. Currently, according to his official title, he holds the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Head of Xuan Hoa Hamlet; however, in reality, during the recent period when the Secretary of the Party Branch's health deteriorated, he took on both roles.

Leading us along the spacious and well-maintained road, Mr. Nguyen Van Than explained that in 2021, the hamlet collectively implemented two rural transportation projects: constructing a new 1km main road and upgrading and developing 2.3km of internal hamlet roads, with a total cost of over 2.3 billion VND. Of this, 500 million VND was provided by higher authorities, and the remaining 1.8 billion VND came from contributions by the hamlet's residents. In addition to monetary and material contributions, households in the hamlet also donated over 7,600 m2 of land to expand the road network. These efforts laid the foundation for Xuan Hoa hamlet to achieve the title of Exemplary Cultural Village at the provincial level in 2021.

What the people trust most in each movement is financial transparency, as citizens are able to monitor and inspect all income and expenditure. Especially noteworthy is the exemplary conduct of the Party members, and particularly the Deputy Secretary of the Party Branch and Village Head, Nguyen Van Than, who consistently sets a good example of "words matching deeds," from contributing labor to the implementation of infrastructure projects in the village to contributing to various funds and supporting local movements.

As someone with the closest access to policies and resolutions, Mr. Than regularly disseminated information and encouraged residents in the hamlet to understand the meaning and practical benefits of building a new rural area. This created consensus and support among the 54 party members in the branch and all segments of the community.

According to Mr. Bien Van Trung, Head of the Propaganda Department of the Nam Dan District Party Committee, the leading and exemplary role of cadres and Party members in the district has become a major driving force for Nam Dan to gradually build and implement socio-economic development resolutions comprehensively. Increasingly, many grassroots cadres at all levels in the locality are shining examples in implementing President Ho Chi Minh's teachings, becoming leaders of Party committees and governments who enjoy the people's unwavering trust.

Notably, the Party Secretary of Nam Giang commune, Dang Hoang Linh, has effectively led and implemented the thematic resolution on building a model new rural commune in the 2019-2023 period, linking it with the plan to transform Nam Giang into a model new rural commune by "exploiting cultural and spiritual values, ecological landscapes associated with spiritual tourism and experiential community tourism".

The Party Secretary of the commune personally and enthusiastically participated in the implementation alongside the steering committee for new rural development in each village and hamlet. Thanks to this, the bridge between the people's will and the Party's direction was always bridged by the head of the Party committee, enabling the most effective realization of goals and making Nam Giang commune one of the top four units in socio-economic development in Nam Dan district.

In 2021, Nam Giang commune achieved a production value growth rate of 8.4%. The total production value reached over 280 billion VND, an increase of 8.2% compared to 2020. The production value of the service sector reached 61.54 billion VND, an increase of 12.7% compared to 2020.

Per capita income reached 50.9 million VND/person/year.

Looking at the entire district, the implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW of the Politburo on "Promoting the study and emulation of Ho Chi Minh's thought, morality, and style" is considered a guiding principle, enabling every cadre and Party member in the political system of Nam Dan district to clearly understand their responsibilities in fulfilling their assigned duties and tasks, changing their working style and methods to be closer to the people, understand the people, serve the people, and be closely involved with the grassroots.

Leading the way in economic development.

While many fertile rice paddies are gradually being forgotten, and many people are no longer interested in farming, Party member Tran Ba ​​Thanh (born in 1959) in Trung Dong ward, Nam Dan town, has made many people change their thinking about sustainable wealth creation through agriculture. Leading us to Dong Cua, where his family cultivates 1.4 acres of rice, Mr. Thanh couldn't hide his excitement as he shared: "Since 2013, after the State implemented the land consolidation and exchange policy, I boldly leased many areas of abandoned or unproductive rice fields from the people to build a large-scale model rice field with a total area of ​​more than 4 acres in 3 different areas."

Besides rice cultivation, his family also implemented a fish-rice farming model and reclaimed low-lying land to create areas for fish farming and a flock of over 2,000 poultry. During peak periods, the family also maintained a herd of over 20 pigs and invested in three high-capacity threshing machines, creating jobs for more than 10 seasonal local workers. This created an efficient production cycle and linkage, becoming a model that many Party members and local people visited to learn from.

Speaking about the economic model of Party member Tran Ba ​​Thanh, Comrade Nguyen Anh Tuan - Secretary of the Party Committee of Nam Dan town - shared that it was about overcoming difficulties in reclaiming abandoned land and low-yield land to create new value per unit area.

Specifically, for areas of farmland that are difficult to cultivate and lack water, such as the Bau Moi rice paddies, the family of Party member Tran Ba ​​Thanh leased the land and used machinery to build small dams, creating an abundant water source for the production area. Thanks to this, not only his family but also neighboring households benefited from this valuable water. He also readily shared his business and economic development experiences, enthusiastically guiding them, lending them livestock, or facilitating loans for Party member families and disadvantaged people to develop economic models.

Regarding the positive changes the locality has achieved in recent times, Comrade Tran Thi Hien, Deputy Secretary of the Nam Dan District Party Committee, shared: "Building Nam Dan district into a comprehensively developed district, and soon becoming a model district, was the aspiration of President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime, and also the goal of the Party committees, governments at all levels, and of cadres, Party members, and people of Nam Dan district. To achieve that goal, the entire political system has shown high determination in effectively implementing Project 06-DA/HU dated June 17, 2018, of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee on "Improving exemplary conduct; combating conservative thinking, waiting, and dependence among cadres and Party members."
