(Baonghean.vn) - A pair of deer antlers weighing more than 8.5kg was recently sold by Mr. Nguyen Van Tien's family, hamlet 6, Quynh Yen commune, along with a deer for 360 million VND to a customer in Quynh Tan commune (Quynh Luu district).
Hearing that Mr. Nguyen Van Tien's family raised a deer with a very large pair of antlers, many people, especially deer and elk farmers in Quynh Luu district, came to admire it and help the owner cut the antlers. After cutting, the pair of antlers weighed 8.54 kg.
Mr. Nguyen Van Tien said: The family bought this deer 3 years ago for 60 million VND, now about 5 years old. Deer raised from 2 years old and up will be harvested for antlers once a year. After buying, the family fed the deer mainly vegetables and grass. During the season when deer grow antlers, the family added starches such as corn, cassava, etc. Last year, this deer harvested a pair of antlers weighing 7.6 kg, unexpectedly this year the pair of antlers reached such a high weight. However, the family also regrets selling this deer.
It is known that the customer who spent 360 million VND to own this deer and pair of antlers is Mr. Nguyen Canh Sinh, in hamlet 13, Quynh Tan commune (Quynh Luu district).
“Having been in the business of buying and raising deer for many years, I am very pleased to have bought this deer. The pair of deer antlers after being cut was ordered by someone for 50 million VND,” Mr. Nguyen Canh Sinh added.
