The survey team encouraged the family of Ms. Lu Thi Thu, Lanh village, to strive to escape poverty. |
Chau Binh is a particularly difficult commune of Quy Chau district. The people's lives mainly depend on rice production, forest protection and conservation, without any other economic models or occupations. The rate of poor households accounts for 36.14% and 18.15% of near-poor households. In particular, there are some villages with high poverty rates, such as Pha Day village with 75%, Binh Tho with 40%...
Through direct surveys of some poor households in Ban Lanh, Ban Luong, and Ban Hat communes, the survey team found that the local investigation, screening, and assessment of poor households were quite accurate. Poor households are mainly due to lack of conditions for economic development, with each household having only 1.5 - 2 sao of rice land and the area for forest protection and conservation is 4 - 7 sao.

Regarding the process of investigation, review, and assessment of poor households, it is ensured that it complies with regulations and guidelines. However, the process of investigation, review, and assessment of poor households still has some difficulties. The reason is that most people still have the mindset of waiting and relying on others, and have not really tried and worked hard to escape poverty. Some investigators have not been able to reflect all the information that needs to be investigated. This leads to a criterion of poor households that is not objective and accurate.

Based on the survey, the Culture and Social Affairs Committee of the Provincial People's Council recommends that the Party Committee and the authorities of Chau Binh commune need to have effective solutions and plans to reduce poverty. At the same time, they should pay attention to propaganda, especially to young families to actively work and produce to escape poverty. Along with that, it is necessary to investigate, review, and evaluate poor households objectively and accurately to have appropriate and targeted impacts, helping poor households and poor people escape poverty.
