Unable to stop, father and son beat and seriously injured a man

On February 12, Quynh Luu District Police announced that the unit had just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecuting 5 subjects for the act of "Intentionally causing injury" that occurred in Hamlet 5, Quynh Yen Commune (Quynh Luu) on the night of the 2nd day of Tet.

The subjects are Nguyen Chau, Nguyen Van Hung, Nguyen Van Binh, Nguyen Van Thung and Nguyen Van An, all residing in Hamlet 5, Quynh Yen Commune (Quynh Luu). Chau, Binh and Hung are father and son. Thung and An are brothers.

According to documents provided by the police, at around 9:30 p.m. on January 26 (the night of the second day of Tet), a group of subjects including Nguyen Van An (born in 1994), Nguyen Van Hung (born in 1993) and Nguyen Van Hiep (born in 1992), all residing in Hamlet 5, Quynh Yen Commune, went out to play. On the way past Mr. Ha's house, the group met some young men sitting on the side of the road who were friends of Mr. Ha's son. The two groups of young men argued and got into a fight. Both sides had been drinking alcohol beforehand.

Seeing the tense situation, Nguyen Van Hiep ran away, An and Hung were beaten by the group of young men. At this time, Mr. Ha and Mr. Nguyen Chau (Hung's father) rushed in to stop them, however, Mr. Chau was beaten back by the group of young men. Angry at being beaten, and still drunk, Mr. Chau went into the house to get a weapon.

At the same time, An and Hung ran into Hung's house. An took a knife and a piece of wood and went out, Hung also brought an iron pry bar. An also called his uncle's son, Nguyen Van Thung, for "help". After receiving his brother's call, Thung brought a knife and went out. At this time, Nguyen Van Binh (Hung's brother) heard that his father and brother were beaten, so he immediately ran to Mr. Ha's house to ask what happened.

Hung rushed out with a pry bar. At that moment, he saw Chu Quang Trung (born in 1991), a resident of Hamlet 9, Quynh Yen Commune, who had just hit him. He used the pry bar to hit Trung twice, hitting him in the shoulder and head. Hung continued to attack Nguyen Van Hoa, causing Hoa to fall to the side of the road. After that, Hoa was also hit in the leg by a knife thrown by An while he was running away. Hung was stopped by the people, who recovered the weapon, so he went home. At this time, Binh and Thung used knives to slash Trung, injuring him in the arm and head. In addition, Binh also used a knife to slash Dau Duc Thach, injuring him.

Upon receiving the report from the people, Quynh Luu District Police promptly went to the scene to investigate the cause of the incident, urgently arrested the subjects that night, and at the same time organized a heat injury assessment for the victims to have grounds to prosecute the subjects. At the police station, the subjects confessed to all their actions. The subjects also said that because they had previously drunk alcohol, they could not control their actions.

Due to multiple slashes, the victims Chu Quang Trung, Nguyen Van Hoa, and Dau Duc Thach were transferred to Nghe An General Hospital for treatment. The injury assessment concluded that Trung suffered 14% disability, Thach suffered 13%, and Hoa suffered 5%.
