On November 16th, many flower growers in Van Thanh flower village, Da Lat city, reported that in the past few days, the prices of all types of flowers have increased by 2-3 times compared to the previous month.

According to observations by reporters at flower shops and flower gardens in Da Lat on November 16th, the prices of many types of flowers have started to increase sharply, even though there are still 4 days until Vietnamese Teachers' Day.

Specifically, roses (all colors), which normally cost between 1,200 and 2,000 VND per flower, have now increased to 5,000 VND per flower (price at the garden). Gerbera daisies have increased from 1,000 VND per flower to approximately 2,500 VND per flower. Hydrangeas have increased from 4,000 VND per flower to 7,000-8,000 VND per flower. Carnations are priced at 45,000 VND per bunch, double the usual price.

Prices of all types of flowers in Da Lat have increased sharply.

The prices of supplementary flowers such as Baby's Breath increased from 100,000 VND/kg to 200,000 VND/kg; Salem flowers increased from 30,000 VND to 60,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, cut lilies saw a slight increase from 80,000 VND/bundle of 5 stems to 90,000 VND/bundle…

At retail stores in Da Lat market, the retail prices of flowers are about 25-30% higher than the original prices at the farms. In particular, some mobile flower stalls on Nguyen Cong Tru Street and at the intersection near Da Lat University... sell flowers at double the price.

Some mobile flower shops have also doubled the price of flowers compared to normal days.

The reason for the simultaneous increase in flower prices is due to the approaching Vietnamese Teachers' Day, with many people buying flowers to express their gratitude to their teachers. Another reason is the prolonged heavy rains and floods that left many provinces and cities without fresh flowers for November 20th, forcing flower wholesalers to buy from Da Lat, resulting in insufficient supply to meet demand.
