Yesterday afternoon (December 10), Can Tho Lottery Club decided to appoint Technical Director Vu Quang Bao as Head Coach to replace Coach Nguyen Thanh Danh.

After finalizing the list of participants in V-League 2016, XSKT Can Tho continued to have changes in personnel. Notably, Coach Vu Quang Bao was appointed as head coach of XSKT Can Tho to replace Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh. This is the second time Mr. Bao has been the head coach of the Tay Do team. Previously, in the 2010-2011 season, Mr. Bao led Can Tho in the First Division, but this was not a very successful period for the head coach from Nghe An.

This move, to many people, is only symbolic because everyone understands that Mr. Bao has long been the one who decides all professional matters at the Tay Do football team. In his role as Technical Director, Mr. Bao bears the highest responsibility. The players brought to Tay Do are mostly from Mr. Bao's connections and many "mercenaries" have their starting point in SLNA, Mr. Bao's hometown.

Instead of being the head coach as his registered position, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh was appointed to a higher position, that of General Director, left by Mr. Le Van Cuong. In addition, the Chairman of the Can Tho Lottery Club, Mr. Le Viet Hung, will also be replaced by the Vice Chairman of the Club, Mr. Tran Minh Tam.

Asked about the purpose of this change in the coaching staff, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Danh (Director of Can Tho Lottery Club) said: “After a season participating in V-League, to continue to have more success, we decided to make this change to create a new feature for the club. We want to create professionalism in the team. Each position has a suitable change according to the ability and suitability of each individual.

Each individual is very worthy, experienced in management, organization and leading the team. Besides, we also want to raise the position of Can Tho football to a new level, worthy of the central geographical position of the Mekong Delta. We are determined to follow in the footsteps of the previous generation of seniors who have helped Can Tho football become better and better."

According to Mr. Danh, XSKT Can Tho has been well prepared since the beginning of the season and has made changes to help Can Tho football develop thanks to the attention of local leaders. The club is receiving strong support from sponsoring businesses and especially Can Tho fans who always support the team in difficult times.

Coming up in mid-January, Can Tho Lottery Club will organize a friendly football tournament with several teams from the Southern region such as B.Binh Duong, Long An, QNK Quang Nam, Khanh Hoa, Dong Thap... to compete in preparation for the new season and help the teams review their forces before the start of V-League 2016.
