Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Twitter on January 28 that the country will welcome people fleeing persecution, terrorism and war, regardless of their faith, according to PBS.
In addition, Mr. Trudeau also posted a photo of him kindly asking a Syrian refugee child at Toronto airport in late 2015.
The above statement is considered a response by the head of the Canadian government to the new US President Donald Trump's executive order restricting Muslim immigration.
"The Prime Minister also looks forward to discussing Canada's immigration and refugee policy successes with the US President during their upcoming talks," said Kate Purchase, a spokesperson for Mr. Trudeau.
