| Fisherman Nguyen Van Thuy from Dien Ngoc commune said that his boat set sail for its first trip of the year on the afternoon of the 4th day of Tet (Lunar New Year) and returned to the fishing port by noon today. The catch wasn't huge, but it sold well, especially squid, shrimp, and catfish, bringing in about 7 million VND. Photo: Xuan Hoang |

Reportedly, on this first fishing trip of the year, each boat brought back at least 5 million VND, with some earning 7-8 million VND. Fishermen believe that although the catch wasn't high, traders raised the price of seafood, resulting in higher income than usual. (Photo: Xuan Hoang) |

Squid is priced at 120,000 - 150,000 VND/kg, mantis shrimp at 120,000 VND/kg, and scad, which normally costs 150,000 - 170,000 VND/kg, has now risen to 300,000 VND/kg and is still unavailable, as each fishing boat only catches 2-5 kg of scad.
