During the 2024-2025 period, the company aims not only to achieve production targets but also to comprehensively innovate in management, technology, and corporate culture.
Digital transformation - A strategic leverage
Recognizing the role of technology in enhancing competitiveness, Nghe Tinh Port has implemented a digital transformation project for the period 2024–2030 with a total investment of 13.4 billion VND.
The project includes investment in hardware, software, transmission systems, and storage equipment, aiming for comprehensive modernization of the information technology infrastructure. The application of software such as TOST in port operations, electronic office software, and asset management systems has helped automate processes, minimize errors, save time, and improve work efficiency.
In 2024, despite facing many challenges, Nghe Tinh Port achieved a throughput of 4.3 million tons, exceeding the plan by 100.39%; revenue exceeded 200 billion VND, reaching 103.87% of the plan; and pre-tax profit was 20.7 billion VND.
Entering 2025, the company aims to achieve a throughput of 4.6 million tons, with projected revenue of approximately 215 billion VND. The investment in two new cranes, the upgrading of the warehouse system, and the dredging of the channel to a depth of -7.2m according to international standards have contributed to enhancing the port's operational capacity and attracting large-tonnage vessels.
In 2024, Nghe Tinh Port implemented 88 initiatives based on the Kaizen model, focusing on improving production and management efficiency. These initiatives included improving loading and unloading processes, optimizing warehousing systems, and upgrading equipment, contributing to increased labor productivity and reduced operating costs.
In 2025, the company will continue to invest VND 26.5 billion in basic construction projects and equipment procurement, including upgrading bridge decks, cargo yards, internal roads, and purchasing wheeled excavators and container handling forklifts. These investments will not only enhance the port's operational capacity but also facilitate the application of new technical innovations, aiming towards the development of a green and smart port.
The technical innovation initiatives during the 2023-2025 period have made a significant contribution to enhancing the competitiveness of Nghe Tinh Port, affirming its position as one of the modern and professional seaports in the North Central region.
Green Port – Towards Sustainable Development
Nghe Tinh Port also prioritizes environmental protection and sustainable development. Measures such as covering the bulk cargo handling area, planting more trees, installing dust-proof nets, and implementing a misting system have been put in place to limit dust dispersion and improve the working environment.
At the same time, the company also strengthened its occupational safety and hygiene practices, organizing training and regular inspections to ensure the safety of its employees.
With a spirit of continuous improvement, Nghe Tinh Port has encouraged its staff and workers to propose creative ideas and technical innovations. Mr. Bui Kieu Hung, General Director of Nghe Tinh Port Joint Stock Company, stated: "Each year, the company generates approximately 100 innovative ideas that effectively contribute to production. Initiatives such as warehouse management software, document management and storage systems, and improvements to the electronic portal have been implemented, contributing to increased work efficiency and encouraging the creativity of employees."
