Forest fire warning has been upgraded to extremely dangerous in Nghe An.
(Baonghean.vn) - In recent days, Nghe An province has experienced intense heat, with temperatures exceeding 41°C in some areas. The heat and high temperatures are forecast to intensify in the coming days, significantly increasing the risk of forest fires in the province.

The Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Program of Nghe An province for the period 2021-2025 issued a forest fire warning for forest areas in Nghe An province from April 27th to May 2nd, ranging from Level III (high level) to Level V (extremely dangerous level).
To proactively respond to, limit, and minimize damage caused by forest fires, the Provincial Steering Committee for the Sustainable Forestry Development Program, 2021-2025, requests the People's Committees of districts, cities, and towns; the Forest Protection Force; forest management units; and relevant agencies and units to strictly implement the regulations in: Decree No. 156/2018/ND-CP dated November 16, 2018; and Prime Minister's Official Dispatch No. 31/CD-TTg dated April 4, 2024, on proactively strengthening urgent measures.forest fire prevention and control(PCCCR).

Effectively implement forest fire warning systems at fire watchtowers throughout the province, and monitor the forest fire warning information system of the Forest Protection Department. Improve the early warning and forecasting of forest fire risk levels to local authorities, forest owners, and the public to raise awareness and proactively implement appropriate measures for forest fire prevention and control.
In addition, proactively organize the signing of cooperation agreements on forces and equipment with military units and armed forces stationed in the area to unify the mechanism for mobilizing forest firefighting forces in the event of large-scale forest fires.
Prevent the burning of fields and vegetation to prepare land for reforestation and reduce flammable materials in forests in the area on days with forest fire risk levels IV and V.

When a forest fire occurs, the Chairman or Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of the district, city, or town shall be present at the scene to directly supervise, mobilize forces, equipment, logistics, and command firefighting according to the approved plan.
For forests located near residential areas or warehouses, in the event of a fire, proactive measures must be taken to evacuate residents from the dangerous area and to ensure the safety of lives and property for the people and the forces participating in forest firefighting.
After extinguishing the fire, we request that the local authorities direct relevant agencies to promptly investigate and determine the cause and perpetrators of the fire, and strictly punish those who violated regulations.
