Flood warnings are in effect on the rivers.

Currently, water levels on the Thao River (Lao Cai), rivers in Ha Tinh, and northern Quang Tri are rising; water levels on other rivers are fluctuating.
At 13:00 on August 25th, the water level on the Gianh River (Quang Tri province) at the Dong Tam station was 7.74m, 0.74m above alarm level 1; other rivers remained below alarm level 1.

Warning:From today (August 25th) to August 28th, a flood will occur on the Thao River (Lao Cai) and on rivers from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri.

During this flood, the peak water levels on small rivers, the upper reaches of the Ca River (Nghe An), the Ngan Sau River, the Ngan Pho River (Ha Tinh), and the Gianh River (Quang Tri) reached levels 2-3, with some areas exceeding level 3; the Buoi River, the upper reaches of the Ma River (Thanh Hoa), the Kien Giang River, and the Thach Han River (Quang Tri) reached levels 1-2 and above level 2; the Thao River, the lower reaches of the Ca River (Nghe An), and the La River (Ha Tinh) reached levels 1 and above level 1.

There is a high risk of flooding in low-lying areas along rivers, urban areas, and densely populated areas; flash floods and landslides on slopes in mountainous areas of Lao Cai, Phu Tho provinces and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri (Real-time warning information on flash flood and landslide risk areas is provided online on the website of the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology at:
