Vice Chairman of Phan Thiet City reprimanded for advising on granting land to his father.

Mr. Dang Dinh Hieu, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City, was reprimanded for advising on the allocation of land to the wrong recipient, namely his own father.

According to information from the Central Disciplinary Committee, on November 1st, the Binh Thuan Provincial Disciplinary Committee issued a warning to Mr. Dang Dinh Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Phan Thiet City People's Committee.

Mr. Dang Dinh Hieu, who was directly in charge of land matters, was aware of the policy and eligible buyers of land in the Tien Thanh residential area, Tien Loi commune. He also knew that his father did not have permanent residency in Phan Thiet City, but he directly approached the Chairman of the Phan Thiet City People's Committee to have his father allocated 150 square meters of residential land in the Tien Thanh residential area, Tien Loi commune, despite his father being ineligible according to the regulations of the Phan Thiet City People's Committee.

In connection with this incident, the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Commission also decided to reprimand the following individuals: Do Ngoc Diep - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phan Thiet City; Dang Thanh Tan - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Phan Thiet City, former head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment of Phan Thiet City; and Tran Ngoc Thuan - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phu Thuy Ward, Phan Thiet City.

Mr. Do Ngoc Diep, Mr. Dang Thanh Tan, and Mr. Tran Ngoc Thuan, in their assigned roles and responsibilities, were irresponsible in confirming the residence verification record of Mr. Hieu's father and confirming the application for land use fee reduction under the policy with false information; they advised, proposed to the City People's Committee, directed, and signed the decision to allocate 150m2 of land to Mr. Hieu's father.

The Binh Thuan Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee concluded that the aforementioned violations had affected the implementation of housing and land policies by the Phan Thiet City People's Committee, causing negative public opinion and damaging the personal reputation of the officials involved.
