Beware of false arguments that sabotage the work of preventing corruption and negativity.

Regarding the 5th Central Conference of the 13th tenure, before and after the Conference, hostile, reactionary and opposing forces also created false and distorted arguments to sabotage, especially in the work of preventing corruption and negativity. Therefore, every cadre, party member and citizen needs to be extremely vigilant.

The 5th Central Conference of the 13th tenure (from May 4 to 10, 2022) approved many important contents of immediate and long-term significance for the country's development such as: Land management and use; agriculture, farmers, rural areas; collective economic development; building grassroots party organizations and party members; results of self-criticism and criticism of the Politburo and Secretariat in 2021; discussed and reached a high consensus on the policy of establishing a provincial-level Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and negativity...

Many international mainstream media outlets highly appreciated the contents of the 5th Central Conference. The results of this Central Conference demonstrated the Party's political determination to "match words with actions", concretizing viewpoints and orientations on 6 important issues. However, some media channels have an unfavorable view of Vietnam such as Radio Free Asia - RFA, BBC Vietnamese, VOA... and websites of reactionary exile organizations such as Viet Tan, New Horizon Media have published many articles, information, and assessments that are distorted and negatively steer public opinion.

On associations, groups, and social networks, extremists often spread speculative and prejudicial information to confuse public opinion. From there, they create comment streams to disrupt information, turn wrong into right, and turn black into white. Reactionary elements thoroughly exploit the issue of anti-corruption and negativity to distort and create excuses to sabotage.

They claim that the anti-corruption campaign is ineffective, that “the furnace is not burning as expected” or “If anti-corruption is still done in the old way, the effectiveness cannot be sustainable”. RFA has published a series of articles that are stereotypical and unrealistic about the situation of the fight against corruption and negativity in Vietnam; claiming that anti-corruption is just “dogmatic philosophy”, “pruning branches to make the tree more luxuriant”…

Many extremists and political opportunists have continuously made contradictory comments to completely deny Vietnam's efforts to fight corruption and negativity, such as: "Corruption in Vietnam is like a virus that eats deep into the cells of the Communist Party, from top to bottom"; "Vietnam's fight against corruption is as difficult as an ant on a banyan tree branch". They set up experts and then posted a number of articles claiming that the establishment of a provincial Steering Committee on corruption prevention and control is a "failure" of Vietnam, a "regression" in the fight against corruption and negativity...

Obviously, the above arguments are extremely illogical and baseless speculations aimed at defaming the Communist Party and the State of Vietnam.

RFA and reactionary websites have many articles distorting and making false accusations about the negative anti-corruption work in Vietnam.

Reality proves that corruption is not a “specific product” of Vietnam but it occurs in all countries in the world, it is a global problem. This has been clearly recognized in the International Convention against Corruption in 2003: “No longer a problem, corruption is a phenomenon that now crosses national borders and affects all societies and economies, so international cooperation to prevent and control corruption is an urgent requirement”.

According to recent studies, corruption in nearly half of the world's countries has not improved much. In many countries, corruption is even increasing, affecting almost every aspect of life among people on every continent.

In recent times, the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity in Vietnam has been carried out resolutely, in the right direction, and brought about positive results. Since the beginning of 2022, the Central Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption and Negativity has monitored and directed the prosecution of 4 new cases with 23 defendants, prosecuted 7 new defendants in 3 cases, and initiated additional charges against 4 defendants in 2 cases; completed investigations and conducted additional investigations of 5 cases/134 defendants; prosecuted 3 cases/34 defendants; tried 2 cases/14 defendants at first instance, and tried 1 case/4 defendants at appeal. Of which, 8 officials are under the Central management.

On this issue, after careful research, evaluation, discussion and consideration, 63/63 provincial and municipal Party Committees and the Central Executive Committee discussed and reached a high consensus on the policy of establishing a provincial Steering Committee on anti-corruption and anti-negativity. This is a premise for the whole country to further promote the achieved results, bringing the work of anti-corruption and anti-negativity to both spread widely and go into depth.

The Central Government's decision to establish a provincial-level Steering Committee for Anti-Corruption and Negative Behavior demonstrates its determination to be uncompromising and uncompromising in the face of corruption and negative behavior; to ensure that the work of anti-corruption and negative behavior is carried out smoothly and synchronously from the Central to the local levels, helping to "bring together consensus from top to bottom, and clarity of mind throughout", and to push back the situation of "hot above, cold below".

Never before has the work of preventing and combating corruption and negativity been directed so strongly, synchronously, resolutely and effectively as in the recent past; leaving a prominent mark in the international community, creating high consensus in society and consolidating and strengthening the trust of cadres, party members and people in the Party and State. This is a persistent, long-term task, requiring tireless efforts of the entire Party, people and army. Corruption will certainly be prevented and repelled, contributing to building our Party and State to be increasingly clean and strong, meeting the requirements of the revolutionary cause and the trust and expectations of the people.
