A suspected drug trafficker sped away in a residential area in Huu Lung (Lang Son province), prompting dozens of police officers to surround him and fire tear gas before finally subduing him.

A local official confirmed the incident and said that the police had cordoned off the road and mobilized dozens of people to participate in the search.

Speaking to Zing.vn, residents near the scene of the incident said they had heard several gunshots beforehand. Looking out onto the street, witnesses saw police officers carrying AK rifles and handguns chasing the suspect.

"After that, dozens of riot police and criminal investigators were deployed. A large crowd of people gathered around the area," a source present at the scene said.

At the same time, a video clip showing part of the incident appeared on social media. Initially, three armed police officers and civilians chased a group of people hiding in a house.

As authorities surrounded the house on the main street, the video captured several consecutive gunshots. Having determined that the gunman had fled, police pursued him into a narrow alley.

A nearby resident said the suspect was still hiding in the residential area. The four-seater car, believed to belong to the fleeing suspect, had crashed into the roadside near a house and overturned.

Later that same day, Colonel Nguyen Trung Thuc, Director of the Lang Son Provincial Police, confirmed the arrest of the suspect. The suspect was identified as Tran Ba ​​Duc (from Lang Son City).

During the pursuit, the police mobilized their forces and used tear gas grenades. At approximately 5:30 PM, law enforcement officers apprehended Duc and seized four packages containing about 3.5 kg of methamphetamine from his car.

According to the police, the suspect used two handguns, including a K59 pistol, to fire at the police, but fortunately no one was injured.
