Fifty officers and soldiers trekked through forests and waded through streams to apprehend a gambling ring led by Dang Ha Vu.

On August 22, the Criminal Police Department of Da Nang City Police announced that law enforcement officers had raided a gambling den in the forest.

Accordingly, through intelligence gathering, investigators discovered that Dang Ha Vu (born in 1984, residing in An Cuong village, Viet An commune) was the ringleader of an organized gambling den, frequently changing locations, arranging multiple layers of security, and only allowing acquaintances or those introduced to him to participate.

Gamblers gather in groups of 20-40 people each day, betting heavily on the game of "xóc đĩa" (a Vietnamese dice game) with sums reaching hundreds of millions of dong.

To conceal his activities, Vu had his subordinates pick up customers from afar, transport them to the gambling den, and arranged for multiple layers of guards. The operation took place from 2 PM to 9 PM daily, seriously affecting local security and order.

On August 20th, 50 officers and soldiers were divided into several task forces, trekking through forests and wading through streams, traveling dozens of kilometers to approach the gambling den without being detected. At 4:30 PM, the police force simultaneously raided the area, catching dozens of individuals red-handed participating in gambling in the acacia and eucalyptus hill area of An Cuong village.

As a result, 21 individuals were arrested, including many who acted as lookouts and directly participated in gambling. Seized items included: nearly 193 million VND in cash, 28 motorcycles, 1 Fortuner car, 14 mobile phones, and various gambling paraphernalia.

Initial investigations revealed that Dang Ha Vu collected a "commission" of 200,000 VND per person per hour from gamblers and paid his accomplices 300,000 VND per day. Currently, the Criminal Police Department has temporarily detained 14 suspects and is continuing to expand the investigation to apprehend other related individuals for prosecution.
