Coast Guard summarizes results of survey and assessment of the situation in the sea and islands.
On the afternoon of September 29th, in Hanoi, the Vietnam Coast Guard held a conference to review the results of two years of implementing the task of organizing local working groups to survey and assess the situation in coastal sea and island areas.
Lieutenant General Bui Quoc Oai - Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the Vietnam Coast Guard - chaired the conference. Also attending were Lieutenant General Le Dinh Cuong - Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, other heads of the Vietnam Coast Guard, and representatives from functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense.
The conference was held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation, connecting to four locations throughout the entire force.
At the headquarters of the Coast Guard Region 1 Command, Major General Tran Van Hau, Political Commissar of the Region 1 Command, chaired the conference.

During the period 2025-2026, under the close leadership of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Commander of the Vietnam Coast Guard, agencies and units have seriously, professionally, and effectively implemented the task of surveying the sea and islands.

These surveys provide valuable practical experience, helping local representatives understand the actual living conditions of the people, cadres, and soldiers, as well as the infrastructure and difficulties and challenges in the frontline sea and island areas.
This helps units make accurate assessments and evaluations to advise the Standing Committee and leaders of the People's Committees of provinces and cities to issue appropriate policies and strategies to serve socio-economic development while ensuring national defense and security.

The opinions expressed at the conference all acknowledged and highly appreciated the responsibility and efforts of the Vietnam Coast Guard.
At the same time, the program contributes to strengthening mass mobilization efforts, harnessing combined strength to protect sovereignty, develop the marine economy, and further spread the positive image of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" and "Vietnam Coast Guard soldiers" in the new era.
