Police raided a karaoke bar and arrested 28 people for gambling (specifically, playing dice).
Police in Thanh Hoa province have just dismantled a gambling ring operating under the form of dice games in a karaoke bar, arresting 28 suspects and seizing nearly 300 million VND.
On March 5th, the Thanh Hoa Provincial Police announced that the Criminal Police Department had just dismantled a large-scale gambling ring operating under the form of dice games in Quang Xuong district.
Accordingly, at approximately 1:00 AM on March 4th, under the direct command of the Director and Head of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the Provincial Police, the Criminal Police Department dismantled a large-scale gambling den, catching 28 individuals red-handed gambling using the dice-shaking method at Hoang Gia karaoke bar, owned by Ha Dinh Dung (aka Dung Huy, born in 1997) in Hamlet 8, Quang Thai Commune, Quang Xuong District.
At the scene, law enforcement officers seized 279 million VND and other related evidence.
The Thanh Hoa Provincial Police believe this is a professional gambling ring, comprising many criminals with numerous previous convictions and criminal records from various localities who came to participate in gambling.
Of the 28 individuals caught red-handed, 19 were from Quang Xuong district, 8 from Thanh Hoa city, and 1 from Thai Thuy district, Thai Binh province.
At the police station, the suspects confessed that the gambling den was organized by Le Sy Hao (born in 1991); Le Sy Dung (the homeowner), Tran Kim Danh (born in 1986) from Quang Thai commune and Trinh Ngoc Xuan (born in 1979) from Quang Luu commune, Quang Xuong district.
In this case, Le Sy Hao and Tran Kim Danh were responsible for recruiting gamblers to gamble at Le Sy Dung's karaoke bar. Trinh Ngoc Xuan provided loans to the gamblers.
The case is currently under investigation and further inquiry by the police.
